A Short Distance

Lots remain
Undone
Since I am not
In a hurry

My head
Pointlessly
Going into
The future…

It’s cold.

No need to hurry, dear Dulce. Put a nice warm shawl about your shoulders!

Steven,
Grab it how? Run? where? I am not in a hurry... and Where would I go?
Well, sure it might help me get out of this coldness.
Thanks :)

Carmen,
I always love your 3-worth visits. I'd say a shawl would really help, yes,- for the time being
Hugs dear.

Hello, YOU!
For me--who regularly piles words upon words to say little--I can at least still recognize and SO appreciate when Dulce uses but 19 words to write a complete chapter in the 'book of life'

SO well done my dear, you remain best of those I read. Comes to my mind a slogan, "Easy Does It" on the back of my truck it's pasted.
Means 'unhurried', as you write.

Three words are missing, which complete the saying, it resolves as: "Easy does it--but DO it!"

Ophelia (artist's vision--in her grave?) interests me, as her life--and death--stayed somewhat a mystery, at least to me.

Girl, stay loving, as you are. And stay living, as you are--in the present, now, one day before the next.
Love and PEACE, both for you!

I am reminded that this is a journey without distance to a place we have never left.

The poems great, and it fits the day I just had. Love the image.

Love it!
Once read, I thought:

"A Short Distance... but what a Huge Gap!"

Dulce's Homework: analyze this sentence ;-) (¡¡Tan cerca, y a la vez tan lejos, "Mi-hijita"!!)

A part of me wants to be in a hurry...doing everything I can not that I missed out on..but I know slowing down...not rushing..things will fall into place...Your last two words.."it's cold..." Dulce..I wanna believe the future will be full of great things...awesome things..that the worst..the cold....is over. Stay strong okay.

I could feel the cold and wanted to direct you towards the warmth, away from an empty future, which appeared as an illusion. The image you chose to reflect your words adds much to the aura you have created in so few words.
As the warmth filters through, the cold will melt away.

Brian,
Thanks I hope it will... meanwhile I'd better not think too much about it!

Steve!
This complete review of my poem deserves a gold medal. You always so wise in your choice of words. I'll take your advice, yes easy does it but DO it!

Andrew,
That seems to be another way to put it, perfect!
Thank you!

Myriam,
You are so right my dear, rushing makes the task wrongly finished
BTW Need to catch up on you!

Anthony
Thanks. I don't know what kind of a day you've had, but sure it indicates not too good!
I am glad you liked the image

Toni,
A gap so full though: and yes 'so near yet so far away'. Sometimes I feel much nearer to those who are afar.
No homework for me to be done! TY

Sarah,
Those are sweeet and supportive words indeed.
By feeling that coldness I am just getting back to the present, you know! Where I must be no matter what
:)

Aguja,

Indeed the future is empty, an illusion.
I'd better stay in this cold present- now warmer thank your beautiful words
:)
