archway

I fall

because that’s what I choose
too late the new voices
came to whisper
that there might be a way out

those voices of the past
remain in this corridor
my own archway
looking out
into a dry dreary garden

I fall in and out
for not being perfect
that much I know

but see
 I am able to imagine
there are flowers and butterflies, instead
despite my willing to rather stay
in this duct.

This works for me in a dreamy sort of way. I think I know those voices!

I like the contrasts of the dry and dreary garden with the flowers and butterflies ~

This echoes a feeling we all have, I think: the gap between the expectations we believe are placed upon us (or that we take on ourselves) and the reality of our human condition. We are all in the same boat on this one, Dulce.

A very intricate study in contrasts here, Dulce. The emphasis is on choice and imagination, despite the sterility and dessication around the writer--enjoyed it much, and happy holidays your way, girl.

You ARE flowers and butterflies to me Dulce.

And all the very best donuts, cake, cookies, ice cream and home-made fudge.

HEY! I got in, before you wrote your usual "thank you!"--grin!

God made us perfect. It is our minds which tell us we are, well...sinners!

So...join the human race Sweetie.
Be happy,
fall,
be sad,
get up,
be happy again
And...etc., etc., etc.

Main thing is do for others, and, as a doting mother and loved teacher, --that is built into your psyche.

Keep on doing what you do, Dulce...ESPECIALLY your WRITING! Awesome (even if I do not understand--grin!)

LOVE and PEACE, the keys to happiness! My opinion only......

Beautiful poetry, as always (como siempre).
I have hidden away in archways and looked out, but not ventured. There is a certain something within a creative soul that has a need for distance .... but then again, there are days for bursting forth in joy and exuberance .... even if the world is cruel in the face of it.
I hope that your being is peaceful and that your Christmas Day was inspirational for you.
