On the Tip of My Tongue

Lost it
T' was heartfelt

Of course

And I had written it so briefly and clearly

In my mind

It wasn’t about the stars or the moon

That blah blah blah

No

Nor was it about me and you
Or you
Or me
Or Him

Was not about that stuff

which tries to bother me

All the time

Day after day

Night after night

It was more about ...

It was better than that
But I lost it
Shame
In the sack.

Dulce Dear--you label this "nothing special", but it reeks of "very special". Those deepest thoughts which will not go away, and the dichotomy (again) of NO turmoil v/s I lost the answer!

You sure know how to write, nobody can ever argue that.

Maybe "it" will leak out of that sack (THAT was greatest analogy!) and haunt you no more.

Whatever, I sure like this one also
It's "In the bag", so to speak/write--grin!
Blessings, girl.
PEACE

i feel the angst in here...there seems to be something hard to communicate or maybe was misunderstood and things can cartainly unravel at that point...but i felt it...

This I can relate too. Wonderful poem. Those lost opportunities.

Many a time it can turn to blah blah blah, as communication breaks down or leaves us for the moment, nice verse.

Hey, Sweeter, I forgot to say how I DO enjoy your newest header 'trio'..it's most poetic. Doesn't have to mean anything--it just IS!
Somewhere this morning I read:

"A poem should not mean. But be."
-- Archibald MacLeish

Really attractive header and appropriate for your blog. H

Having said all that, I bet you'll take it down now and put up a bright star, with angels singing, and "...shepherds tending their flocks by night." --grin!

wondering if it was a poem you lost...i've lost many on the way and esp. if they mean a lot to someone personally it's double hard..

I see a chapbook emerging called "My Sack." Such a good metaphor.

How often do we write 'birefly and clearly in the mind' and it is transient and easily lost. But, sometimes it returns more radiant in the future.

I love this poem. As always, your words speak volumes.

This is sooo awesome.... great poem! I know how that feels, trying to capture that thought that was so clear a moment ago...
