Getting On

Too long away...

I am not waiting
I am just hoping

That the train is a nice place
To stay maybe even sway
Either way

Can take the whole day

I don’t care about destinations
Nowhere is as good a place
As whichever

I just want to sit
Make myself comfortable

Might be going
  north or east

I can always come back
  south or west

My only quest
   to get on that train.

i can appreciate the desire just to move...to find new horizons...to once more feel that things are moving...the train too is a cool mode of transport...never know who you will find on the train...

there are mornings when the flow of life - the one i'm attached to - carries me along and i feel myself fighting it . . . trying to find another train. steven

The poem is wonderful, fits the painting well. The painting is one of my favorites by Steve Hanks. Now the painting has another story, to add to the one I made up when is first saw the painting years ago.

Though my destination may be unknown, undetermined, the train master does have a schedule of stops. And a timetable to match.

I may ride aimlessly, unthinking. But I will end up going where the train takes me.

Funny, in life I am the train engineer and still have only slight control of the goal.

Maybe I wish the surprise?

Love, Dulcinea--and PEACE!

Not waiting, but hoping. No urgency.
