short

Only one tear drops

With the petal

Of the one

only rose

Picked up

on my yesterday walk

Feeling you near

In the one

only second

of no thoughts

I look back to see

You’re gone.

near in the one second of no thoughts...and then gone again...so sad that this space of no thoughts is not bigger..with the thinking comes the reality...

Sometimes a dream world or being lost in our mind is safer than reality, sad indeed.

you have this way about your words, your brevity is like film flash vignettes and feel so hypnotic. I adore your work. nicely done as always.

Great poem! I could feel the sadness dripping from it. It's amazing how so few words have such a big impact.

Oh my! This is terrific, Sweeter! Since no one is 'there', it is good to give (him?) only that second, of no thoughts. He deserves NO more, that is assured.

Or....was he 'there' in the first place?

Kellie said it so well...your brevity is like second-long silent-film vignettes. No sound necessary except what might linger in the mind!

Guess you KNOW I really like this one. xo
PEACE!

It's when you hold your breath and "know". It's a "seeing" and a "yearning". Wonderful poem (liked the illustration as well). Thanks Dulce.

A twang of pang at the end.

Lovely.

Wow,this is thought provoking or provoking to clear all thoughts. To ponder this is to go against its purpose...and yet I read it three times. Please, someone remove my brain and put it in time-out.

I loved this. Sad and beautiful. It was like flash fiction fit into a poem. So many images in my head right now...

Great writing!

There is power in your comments my dear friends.
Thanks for the visit, thanks for flattering my short poem... poetry to me is so much kinda THIS...

Life is short - live the moment. Nicely put.

Any 'praise' I sent to your poetry is neither excessive nor ingratiating (flattery). It is only as I think. And I nearly always say what I think--ask anyone--grin! (Takes lot of words, but gets 'said', HA!)

I also am trying, learning to take compliments as meaningful--or else the commenter is not truthful.

I will add--Shhhhhhhhhhh!--we ARE all guilty of this sometimes, OK?
xo and PEACE!
