DEVOID

Falling tears down to my lips
Craving to yell
Cry out this agony
Inside
Beneath
 My chest and fantasy
Weeping in torment
Sensing slowly
Gathering
The small pieces
Of what should have never been
Taken for granted.

Dulce, why oh why is this not posted in dVerse? It's perfect Dulce, Babe!

Certainly--well, hopefully, this is from imagination, in that series of your "Poems of Pathos".

On the other hand, who is not forever found "taking for granted" the tree, bird, insect, human, Universe, and even, yes...God?

Love and PEACE, Poet!

what never should have been taken for granted...us...that is a heavy line there..we do take much for granted...and sadly that neglect comes back to haunt us...

Tears of regret are the worse, and you captured that perfectly here.

Image so perfectly express I can see it, I can feel it.
Yes, dear Dulce, sometimes even when not taken for granted, it hurts to see the shattered pieces

Deviod - is such a powerful word and echoes the verses beneath, which give such a poignant picture, in words but revealed in the imagination, that my breath is taken away. I feel great empathy with this poem and have travelled this path in the past.
A poem for weeping with.

This one pinches at the heart
especially when you reach the last line.

Like the ripple which grows from small to large circle, little things in life do speak out loud...and I agree we hardly mind about all these little things in life. Beautiful.
