Dry

_______________________

I have no further intentions
Though you might think I do
Cause that’s what I reflected
What inside was true
As it’s true
I forgot to water you
Cause I also forgot
It had not rained for a long while
And your dryness
Was like that tear about to fall
That puppy asking me
To lift him
And be his mum
Until he learned or glimpsed
Life is hard
And devastating.

I am totally drawn to this post.

What you write, how you think. The perfect image.
Other than that . . .
I have no idea why.

Devastating.

life is hard at times...and devastating...

i forgot to water you holds the emotional line for me...

The dichotomy, so Dulce-like: sad and happy, separated, yet joined together by space between two lines. Really a good write! Surely--water those roses with tears. Aqua Vitae!

Good living is simple--but facile? Never! I do not believe "devastating"...That is what victor army does to adversary. In love, no one is the winner. Fine poem, Dulce! And the image? WOW!

There is so much understood, and then the mystery. Like the way this flows from one to the other.

Dulce,

Been long. Hope you're well. The poem shows pain and longing but also a desire to fly free. SOmetimes that is what we need, to free the thoughts and deeds.

Lovely to be reading you after long.

Joy always,
Susan

Very true, but we must push through so hoping there will be some fun with devestating is done.

ANTHONY
I thisnk it's clear. Yet it's not so - Life itself!

STEVE
There is lot of kissing birds stuff in this world-yes. But life is so devastating ... no need to go to the battle field. It's there when you seee a baby cry, a drug adddict, a beloved dying of cancer, and a long etc ... Isn't that devastating?

This is a sharp little piece, Dulce, as well as being soft and beautiful in shape and feel. Last lines are killer.

Life is hard. Did the one being addressed expected to be taken care of? There is no ill intention, just thought perhaps it could take care of itself or something else would. Those in need neglected. Interesting poem.

'And your dryness
Was like that tear about to fall'
