These fragments
Persistent
Immaterial
Hoping you were
Were not trying
Trying again the old formula
Breathe in, breathe out
Hoping I had
Was having
One last shower
Putting on
My favourite silky piece
Bringing back old memories
Allaying
Hoping you are...
You know
Knowing and never forget
You are who you are
Hoping you are...
You accept
Accepting there is no way back
And time is not going to stop
For you
Or anyone.
Hoping you are...
You realize
Realizing I was
You know
Knowing and never forget
You are who you are
Hoping you are...
You accept
Accepting there is no way back
And time is not going to stop
For you
Or anyone.
Hoping you are...
You realize
Realizing I was
Longing so little ago
For the end of what’s now
A desired
Shivering winter
Hoping we are...
Hoping we were
Sinking into my inner sea
Meaningless
Unforgettable.
Hopeless.

This left me very pensive, Dulce. I've been lost in thought since reading it, thinking of lost loves, ones I wish hadn't been lost, wondering what went wrong, wishing how, at the age of 66, I could go back in time.
beautiful poem... really does make you think about your own life in a lot of ways... wow
This is haunting...and I like the attention deficiet start to every stanza..that is the only way I can explain it.
Lovely, delicate, evocative.
Lady Nyo
longing for what is now a shivering winter...ugh dulce you are ripping my heart out....
Sweet and poignant ~
love the structure of this dulce..makes it even more poignant..the last stanza is so heart-wrenching..the meaningless hits me most..
"Realizing I was
Longing so little ago
For the end of what’s now
A desired
Shivering winter"
Great interplay in your language use. "Longing so little." Really good, Dulce. Love the absurd tone.
Poignant and very moving... love the tone!
All life is twain:
The one, a frozen stream
The other, a burning flame.
And that burning flame is
LOVE
--Kahlil Gibran
Unforgettable, yes.
But with meaning.
With hope.
Dulce, this post "Hope" is one to which a Peep might give considerable thought. Positive negativity, full of contradictions--yet NOT absurd. And SO well-crafted! Thank you.
Double dipping:
Those lines "Longing so little ago
For the end of what’s now
A desired
Shivering winter.."
Cool down! That heat wave will not last forever.
Moving and poignant.
I love the way your repetition makes a little change in meaning, and gives a moment to think about both meanings, in each stanza here, and how it creates a mood of wistful reverie. Liked it a lot, Dulce.
knowing who we are, accepting there is no way back..Dulce, you ask for too much
This made me sad!
But expressed wonderfully!
"There is no way back," such sadness beautifully expressed :)
so wistful, soothing, the sadness notwithstanding...
this made me sad too...why do we have to feel that sense of hopelessness before we can truly fly....hugs to you Dulce...across the oceans and yet...we feel so much the same....☺☺
Contemplative, thoughtful, beautiful.
Masterfully written Dulce...
Ahh.. that was very reflective... and gave me a lot to chew upon..
That road called life has so many turns to it, that when we sit down and think of the turns we might have taken in the past, it really makes us wonder.. real hard..
An excellent piece of writing, Dulce...
This leaves me to ponder. Quiet contemplation of
your words.
"Hoping we are...
Hoping we were"
sigh...
Lovely and sad, Dulce.
Well you get a sweet reaction from me. I am so impressed and inspired everytime I read yuor work. My emotions are your puppet, your lines own me. Great work.
