Holiday Swallow

There is this maybe
This after all
This it’s not all that black
And a little swallow flies over my head
Which is black...

And I look up and west, and back
And smile for yes, it’s ok

Don’t be too proud, though
Of your success
For none of them is yours
Or you theirs

They come from different states
Say it well- different status
That land I left behind
Where there is only desert
At first apparently so full
Of rivers
Waterfalls
Cascades.

But they start fading away
At first
Close for summer holidays...

Until your thirst kills you
For there is no water at all
And your dream becomes a fake.

And they’ve come to praise you
Bringing light and trophies
To a life where there was no smile

And they love you and admire you
But then they
Close for summer holiday....

So Cool!
Fortunately, there's another summer in three seasons: day and night, sunset and sunrise, high and low tide, ...
So the swallows, the storks and the rest of poultry will come again... and if not, we should look for them in another place, don't you think so?
Love your verses.

Tons of kisses,
Toni

Summer or winter, heat or cold, sunny or rainy, no matter. The most important thing is those who have to be, they appear when you really need them. Summer is just one more time, your friends will be there always.

Of course summer is a good time to improve my poor English as well. LOL

Kisses!! CU Thursday morning

schools out for summer???? come to think of it, amazing how the different objectives in life 'closing' or being 'closed' can alter ones emotions...

Consider me open :)

This is such a powerful journeying poem, your words transport me and I follow you on your profound, philosophical search for truth. The oblique reality, the, as you so rightly say, "cruel actuality", of this piece is stark, striking and poignant. As always, a wonderful piece.

Dulce, Sweetest Poet!

All your Peeps cannot be "on holiday"...or can they? I am sure the "closed for summer" will open now and then...maybe, ahhhh, hmmmm, well...SUMMER school?

Hell, I cannot get even a sane comment out today! I believe my well has run dry, at least for this hour, until...until.........later!

I've read this over several times, searching for all the meanings you might have here. I often think I miss something in your poetry and I don't want to deprive myself of any hidden message! Your works are incredible and always thrilling.

At 65, I've done it! My poetry book - Life's Journey by Carmen Henesy - is out on Amazon!
( Poems about the things that have been important to me in my journey through life, some humorous, some sad, some that may have meaning to you as well )

Hey Peep! Any swallow I have seen has a white or canary-orange breast.

But granted, if black you saw, then black it was! Maybe just needs a shower? In that cascade?
Take Care, Dulce!

It's all relative - things are as black as we choose to see them.

This piece is really beautifully crafted, Dulce.
