Grey Day

If only
The night would come
To shade this grey day
Close my eyes at once
And swim in the dark holes
Of oblivion.

These days I cannot blog and visit, but cannot help to post.
I hope you all understand.
Thank you so much to the ones who come and go and leave a comment without expecting anything in return.I'll soon catch up on you, as in the old days.
...and please forgive my selfishness...

Hugs

Enjoyed this. I have had “if only” thoughts like this, many times.

I know that feeling well. You put it in the right words. .. When the words call you, you have to write, if nothing else...

Words from an old OLD song, by Al Jolson:

"When there are gray skies
I don't mind the gray skies
You'll make them BLUE...
Sonny Boy.

Friends may forsake me
Let them all forsake me
I'll still have you...
Sonny Boy..."

Cheer up Sweetie...by now you are cheered I bet!

My latest character has provided me with glimpses of Oblivion and can say for a fact, you won't want to swim there. :-D This was sweet in a wonderfully dark way.

For every dark or grey day....three sunny ones. Believing for the sun to shine on you even as I type this. ☺

There is that desire for comfort in this poem, and there is a kind of comfort there. But also I hear the cry for release from darkness woven within these few word so well expressed.

You have written way too much light and joy to swim in oblivion!
