JUST CLOUDS

A Walk in The Clouds, by Missunfortunate (Deviantart)

There you are

All of you and I

Unique actual observer

Making shapes, you

Trying to convey

What right now, I

Can into words

State, translate

All of you and I

Today you are picturing

The whole World map

So clear

Subtly…

Africa becomes a huge dragon

Whose mouth

Opens wildly

To eat America

Which escapes

Wings open

Right towards Hawaii

(Although those were

Not there before…)

Until

it completely vanishes

Into a free transparent layer

And the Italian boot

Is now a claw, huge

Approaching

As if wanting to

Kick Spain

Which flies up

To Greenland

And so on…

Until

Eventually

Venus shines back

Beside Sister Moonshine

And

Winks at me

Good night.

I think clouds show us what we need to see... A boot to you could be a gun to someone else.

A gun...a boot? sorry...

See no connection betwwen those at all!

violent minds don't need to see that in clouds... I doubt they even look up at the sky.

Shame...

Hey, Dulce, thank you for coming over to see me last week. It has been a while for both of us to visit. I'm glad I came today to read this poem. There is depth and maturity here, and those amazing images too. It is not a poem just about cloud watching. You really sing here. Rock on!

Used to make my sister look at the clouds for hours by making up stories about the different shapes in them. Reminded me a lot of childhood. Thanks for sharing

Fun to read the geography come to life through transformation and interaction. Imaginative and has a nice flow to the short lines. smiles

Funny how we all see poems so differently. I thought this was a game with parent and child imagining a world both real, fantastical, and cosmic. It was a "sweet" adventure.
Thanks, Gay

Charming! I "heard" this as a children's story, read at bedtime and opening the door to dreamy trips around the world.

I love the images in the clouds, and like your poem, if you allow yourself to be still and wait they open up to endless possibilities...

Interesting writing!! I felt layers of weatherly travel, and the comfort of night in the depiction of planets and sky, hovering in space! Nice! ~April

Those opening stanzas Dulce,
I see someone in my mind
standing, staring, hair whipping in the wind, observing, and mouthing those very words.
WOW!

Insane imagery, I love it!
