GODDESS DEED

These goddesses have
Hard quests to fight
In search for a change
They mature and transform
Like the butterfly
Emerging into the light
From its dark cocoon.

And it might be true
Some stories for a few
Have good endings.

Psyche must huddle
In the corner weeping,
Waiting until nightfall
To gather the fleece…

Amazed as the eagle
Circles above her,
Sweeping down
For the crystal jar
And flies off to the waterfall
And for her fills it up.
A miracle as it may.

Manages to descend
Into the underworld,
In search of that compulsory
Box filled with sleeping potion
Shame she is
Unable to help
The unfortunate that
She encounters
Rugged hap for them…

Such hard efforts
Lead her to a deep sleep
Now awaiting in peace
To be woken up
By her Eros’s kiss
So that she can conceive
Her deserved release.

Oh Dulce, you are wanting the "Prize-for-the-week", your writing is not only becoming dark in it's deep richness, but a glimpse of light ahead maybe?

I love picturing the eagle swooping down, then fetching her water from the fall. And of course, waiting for the kiss from Eros, who can not be "disturbed" a little by that!

Good poems this week, today probably the best, so wishing you Love and Peace--I go now!

Got to find that goddess and make a happy story ending, LOL!

First time reading your poems. This poem had a darkness about it, but at the end had a light at the tunnel call lust... Unique style you have...

I to like your other blogger friends love the Goddess series. And I say Dulce has her own magical arrows tipped in an aphrodisiac that summons myself and many of her followers back here as we have fallen in love

Whoa....Dulce, this was beautiful in such a dark mysterious way. I love how she wishes to morph from her cocoon and awakened by the love's kiss of her Eros.

Love it!!!

Well... this seems to be the ending of this goddess series... this last one represents the only one with sth similar to a fine end... better than that of Romeo and Juliete, for it's supposed they stay together till the end of time... *And they lived happily ever after...*
I'll keep the Goddess Confused as my fave.
THANKS ALL OF YOU- and especialy Steve- FOR SUCH BEAUTIFUL COMMENTS!

Sweet HUGS and Smiles :) :) :)

Eros’s kiss will come soon...
I found Alfonsina's poem it's

Naked soul

I am a naked soul in these verses,
A naked soul, anxious and lonely
dropping its scattered blossoms

A soul that resembles a poppy,
That can be a lilly, violet
A rock, a jungle and a wave.

A soul that like the wind wanders restlessly
And shouts it she is over the seas,
And sleeps sweetly in a chasm

A soul that adores on its altars
Gods who will not climb down to blind it
A soul that knows no wall.

A sould that easily could rule
Just one heart, if it was willing to split in two
That the blood would sprinkle upon them.

A soul that in spring
Asks the winter to stay: Come back,
May your snow lay upon my meadows.

A soul that dissolves when it is snowing
Crying with grief for roses
With which the spring is infolding us.

A soul, from which sometimes butterflies spring
Out into the fields, regardless the distances,
And to which it says: Sip the things.

A soul that knows nothing and that denies everything
And, denying the good advances the good
Because its devotion is biggest in denial.

A soul that usually enjoys
Stroking souls, contemning the traces,
And to feel a tender touch in the hand.

A soul that is discordant with itself,
Like the winds wandering, running and turning;
A soul that bleeds and is ceaselessly delirious
Because it is the boat on the way to the stars

Did you think, because I was late, that i wouldn't get here? Silly Dulce. :-)

I have a statue of Eros and Psyche on my book shelf. I am very fond of it.

Please keep creating your unique beauty, dear Dulce, whether it is about Goddesses or goats or grasshoppers. I love to read what you write!

Thank you for visiting my blog and taking time to comment, whether it's my poetry or the picture of husband and me. You saw correctly that we love each other and accept each other's imperfections with as good grace as is possible.
You know that writing helps to process the image glowing in your mind, and although I haven't read Bullfinch's Mythology in years, I still read good lines in your work. Keep it up. Thanks for checking on me.

"Manages to descend into the underworld" very mysterious, well written.

Hello there ~ very enchanting poem indeed! Love the ethereal qualities infused throughout.... oh, for Eros' kiss! Well done.

My apologies for not getting over here sooner. I don't post a lot of my own stuff here, as I'm pretty entrenched on the myspace poetry sites and also facebook. That leaves me little time to play over here, when you add in real life and my Blue Turtle website. I'll try to pop in more frequently to read your work, as I enjoyed reading you.

HI Dulce,

These are beautiful. Thank you for directing me to them. I do love the Goddesses and would like to learn more about them...I am more familiar with the Hindu Goddesses.
I soooo love this particular poem...waiting for the release. I am waiting for the release from my psyche :)
