Eventually
He changed my face for
A painting
Then for my place…
He came to find in me
All that
He already had in himself
Full of expectations
Hope
Love and more love
Some new peace
By my shores…
Insane blessed sanity
He came with a heavy suitcase
Full of the wisest gifts
To me
And took back
Heavier ones
To him
No souvenirs
He …
He left
Full of impressions
Memories to be told
To those
He most adores
Sought after me
Seeking after him
Eventually
He left
In me
A new face
A new painting
A new vision of my place
Full of expectations
Hope
Love and more love
We both changed
Without changing.

smiles. what a beautifl picture you paint of the redemptive touches we can have on each other and our makers can have on us as well...big smiles. nice one shot!
WOW Dulce..i am rereading this one over and over..can't get enough of how it takes me..great lines!
tight hugs
"smiling"
I loved it :)sounds like true love 2 me.
I love the line breaks. Usually short lines make a poem run fast, but these force the reader to really slow down and ponder your meaning.
Love the line "insane blessed sanity". Solid work.
I guess that is one aspect of love taking and leaving. But the fact that there was a gain is worth the love.
that my dear is a priceless piece of poetry
Thanks for sharing this masterpiece with One Shot
moon hugs
Such a lovely take on a relationship *sigh~* back to the drawing board Shan...
Some real wisdom in this one. We look to find in others what we already possess within ourselves...if only we could find it there!
There is always give and take, but there is also always a core, unchanged. Interesting and beautiful.
That was sweet and nice to read
Ah!! I loved this shot mi querida amiga!
The give-take situation in which someone is in disadvantage is very well described in here...
"Changed without changing" is that possible? I used to think but, see, you´ve now cleared my mind. :)
Enjoy the sound of your poem; has a nice pace to it, and the lines strike me as heartfelt. Nice One Shot!
Simplistic beauty, but touching and moving. There's a soft passion. A fire that causes each person to grow individually, then grow apart. I particularly liked the ending. It did not end in sadness, but hope for a new future. Well done!
insane, blessed insanity!! love it!
beautiful piece of just how we change without changing each other, each growing in the shadow of the other - making one greater than the two parts - beautifully executed, dear dulce!
Interesting. I especially enjoyed "eventually he changed my face for a painting..." Nice one shot. Love and Light, Sender
Ah the power of love, i can feel it in this one Dulce....truly beautiful! :-)
lots of give and take and the fact that one can be changed without really changing...lovely wording and flow.
We really do have an intense impact on our life partner, even if all we're doing is be together.
Love and more love -- this line makes me smile.
"sought after me/seeking after him"
I liked that. I liked the sound. And the turn of it, the circle of their desire.
Love it and the imagery on your blog is so soothing. Love them all.
Beautiful, beautiful, evocative poetry.
Thank you!
Lady Nyo
Lovely--good pace to it, and the whole thing is very heartfelt. Wonderful and passionate look at relationships.
Beautiful!
I interpreted as a beautiful romance that created a child.
'He left in me a new face a new painting and new vision of my place. Full of expectations. Hope, love and more love'
I love the fluidity
Nice style

Relating to one another shows us who we are and who we are becoming. Great capture of this mystery.
Read this a number of times. I love it, how it can apply in more then one way.
I saw this as a love that surpasses the human dimension...or at very least, comes from the divine. Beautiful, Dulce.
Victoria
looking in others what we have in ourselves and what we want in ourselves.
this is nice
This is so beautiful. To love someone who makes you better, more, whole, without changing you... How wonderful that is. Lovely, Dulce.

Ths s an excellent poem.
Great job
Everyone that comes into our lives leave some sort of impact...They change us in some way, but not in totality...The feelings of love to be remembered...All of this makes us grow into what we are to be...But the growing never stops...
Dulce, this spoke to me deeply...Because eventho someone is in our lives...It doesnt mean they will be there forever...But we learn from each experience...I loved the flow of these words...Like the words are jumping off of the page telling a story...Your story...Our story...
Wonderfully written Dulce...
Your heart is always on display in your poetry...G
Very cool poem. Lovely flow & transitions.

There couldn't be love I don't think without the give and some take...lovely writing! :) ~April
Love how we can do that.

Beautiful, Dulce!
now this was something you can read again and again and love it more each time !!
I love this whole act of redemptive giving and taking. There's something quite beautiful, honest and straightforward about that. Great write! :)
I love how you poetically describe what we all call "having baggage" in relationships, and I love how you describe them as gifts. Beautiful poem i can relate to on many levels.
the flow back in forth between the two...give and taking, taking and giving and both receiving and changing in the process ...nice...bkm
I love the end. Changed without changing. Powerful piece!
Love the artwork.Love the words!!!Made me stand on my feet. They say the only permanent thing in this world is change.
Change without changing.Fabulous thought.
Was a joy to have met you,Dulce!
Your writing is absolutely beautiful!
Dear Sweetest,
May I dare say he did not bring a heavy suitcase, but a real treasure.
No souveniers, nor jewels, better than that, LOVE!
Taking- giving.
Nothing might change much. But for sure that treasure you’ll keep for life!
:-)
Am I right?
Hugs my DD

I enjoyed this. I think being in a relationship which changes you because you want it to is great. It's the relationship that you feel you need to change yourslef to be in which brings difficulties.
Dulce, this is probably your masterpiece. And...we NEVER know what is in the large plan--God's Plan
Sam is correct, some treasures are forever, to never be forgotten, squandered, wasted.
FWI, I have just blogged my final posting. As much as this is difficult, it IS necessary, for me to gain back some of the peaceful spirituality I'm barely able to recall.
I will DEFINITELY miss the blogs, reading, commenting, and yours also--which was special to me.
PEACE!
Steve E
Oh my gosh...FWI really means FYI! OK?--grin!
beautifully written for one shot...wonderful picture..wonderful words...cheers pete
This is how we change...through others we see ourselves, lose ourselves and reclaim ourselves.
Perfect ending to this piece. We both changed without changing. Bittersweet :)
