Mirror Mirror

Looking for some wrinkles
At that never deceiving mirror
She succeeded
Looking for a sign of sadness
As well.

Beauty spots
Far away from beauty
These days
Flabbiness
Uninvited hairs
What the hell…
I told you from here
To stay away.

Once more
She laughs at herself
For being tempted
By young age
To call at a door
So well locked
A long time ago.

The doorway leads, we walk thru.
Go where you want to go, that's what I think.

I am sorry to tell you, but the mirror does lie. I know for a fact, because when I look into such I see wrinkles, but I know for sure I don't have any!
That last stanza does it for me.

Mirrors are ice which do not melt: what melts are those who admire themselves in them.

You are beautiful; you don't need a mirror to say it! Don't feel insecure. I can see your beauty from here! I'm sure you are very very loved.

Doorways are for letting peeps IN, not keeping them OUT.

If you need help with the locks, you might need a professional.

For some reason I really liked this one. Perhaps because my door is " so well locked".

I think we are often merciless with ourselves as far as appearance is concerned. Sometimes I find myself looking at some gal half my age and feeling distinctly less-than. But even the greatest physical beauty fades. The beauty you create with your words, Dulce, doesn't.

I have one of those magnifying pocket sized mirrors so I can see better to tweeze my eyebrows with... damn, I hate that thing! I prefer to look into the bigger, less detailed mirror now... it doesn't hurt as much, LOL.

Like you said, what the hell! Thanks for the post, Dulce :P

Told you i was going to try again later. I certainly don;t need the mirror to remind me of the ravages of time, surely! Sometimes what's in your head is more powerful than what's on the surface of the skin!

love,
