Admiring

You are not a thief
You are not deranged
But a peeping tom…
Or, are you not?

You are that bird
Hiding in a tree
Looking through
   into my window
Needing to see me
As I start to get dressed
Because you are obsessed

Red Lace by AexandraG
Say...
With my hips and legs
   And the way I walk
   And the way I talk
   And the way I wink
Although,
   shame...
   hardly ever at you

But I know you observe me
Follow my track
I feel your presence
Though you are not there
When I look back

Yes, I know you admire me
   Every move I make...
And  I pretend I am oblivious
But must admit
I love of yours...

That obsession
Unique admiration
Bordering a rather weird
   Perfection.

Honest, teasing, and as suggestive as it is overt. Very interesting acknowledgment of oddity in the final lines.

love that last line!

I like the way you phrase this - it is a little edgy but she likes it...

If her moves signify love then it is a harmonious obsession

always love the words of dear Dulce

Interesting change of tempo in the third stanza, added pace to this quirky piece which I much enjoyed

who doesnt want to be admired...as long as it does not get creapy, but i did not get that sense from this...rather more a playful sensuality

The power of the dance, I think you've got it down here.To know someone wants you makes you see them in a unique light indeed--as other's have said, as long as its not creepy(!) Last line's the gem.

So unique and wonderfully written!

"And I pretend I am oblivious"

I love this disclosure! I think we all walk with a secret knowledge of someone's interest in another..

I love this poem. I wonder sometime when drawing or painting from life, if the model isn’t sometimes, having similar thoughts.

This is a very provocative piece.

The illustration and your poem go so well together ... and it is a cleverly constructed poem, besides.

Just loved this one. Don't we all like to be admired. I do, for sure eventhough, I pretend I don't (Winks). Dulce, we humans are so sweet. We say one thing and mean the other. You capture OUR essence so well.

Big hugs and much love,
Susan

Brings to mind a softer time when love's obession was not to capture but to admire. Wonderful piece.

Sensual bordering on scary, and I love it! Classic prima.

Soy yo, Ily...con otro nombre y blog, pero aquí estoy. Al fin te encuentro de nuevo.

Oh my!
Thanks for your sweet reactions-all surprising and again perfectly weird!

In fact, yes, everyone likes to be admired, but when that admiration becomes obsession, I don't think one could bear the situation for long.
At least I could not!

I wish I had the time to go and read all the posts blogging for One Shot, but I can't. I'd rather read a few thoroughly, you know.

:)
Hugs

Romantic take on what could almost be seen as creepy - erotic, at times. Effective, superb piece.

I would think you have a whole world of admirers spying on you, dearest Dulce!

Loved this, Dulce!
I sort of found shades of Maya Angelou in it!
Pure perfection!

now that is a nice obsession

Your writing is beautiful Dulce - so much feeling

No doubt about--this is 'molto dolcissima'...

Obsession might be OK for some--for others it is serious illness, so perfectly weird.

Loved it!. Thank you.

Did the bird have large talons?
sorry, that just showed up in my mind. Mood altering poem indeed...got me thinking...oh and by the way...Eric...behave.

I'm a bit late, but I wanted to tell you how much I liked this One Shot. The peeping tom can be creepy but also erotic, as you so perfectly show us. Like a secret admirer, flattering yet unnerving. The birds have such a view, don't they?

Wow!! No wonder you have such admirers! :)
Lovely flow of words here, Dulce...
A very happy new year to you, my dear..
