Persephone’ Canvas Print by Patricia Ariel |
Cannot go about
Complaining,
Moaning about life and death,
Peace and war
As if Hemingway.
Cannot stand
Cannot struggle
Cannot be too aware
Too oblivious.
.
.
Cannot keep observing
And reaching conclusions
Leading me to further confusion
The massive fight,
As the individual ,
Collide...
And can only stop
That day I die...

Are we feeling human today? Smile, Christmas will be here soon.. Happy Holidays Dulce...
this is so true, it is how i feel, thank you for this it is beautiful
Dulce, your post reminds me of our Rule #62: "Don't take ourselves too seriously!"
Reaching conclusions through observation I "ATTEMPT" to leave to those researchers--who, BTW, observe only outside themselves ...never INSIDE, where the true answers and solutions may be found. That is where the 'meaning of life'....can be found, deep within. (My opinions, of course!)
Anyway my love, stick with winners when you finally find who they are. They will not let you down.
this reminded me of a person I used to work with. He complained day and night of the job. I kept saying a person can not be that miserable all the time. There is a time when we have to either quit or learn to enjoy what we have.
Anyway, nice piece.
Wonderful!
¡Exactamente!
I loved the reference to Hemmingway.
You captured the conflict so well. There has to be compromise to life a full life.
most times complaining only adds more hot air to the problem...unless we do something different...nice write dulce
A challenge and a wonderful message....a new favroite of yours for me...i love this Dulce! :-)
I've actually gotten some comfort out of Papa Hemingway from time to time, though he does suffer rather conspicuously. Loved the poem, and the beautiful illustration, as well.
you first stanza says so much...we must keep going and dreaming and believing...yes believing....blessings...bkm
We all complain sometimes, we're human after all.
Complaining about war, death and the like are expressions of concern that comes from our being. I like to see them as expressions of awareness. But when this goes beyond control, there has to be a check. But better being aware than being oblivious.
Dulce, you open up so many vistas of thoughts and I so love to stop by and meander on what you have said.
Wishing you a lovely remainder of the week.
Joy always,
Susan
Yes!!! I'm in with this!!!! great words...have the best day ever Dulce!!!!!
Wow. The painting of Persephone really sets the stage of your poem for me. I think we probably view Hemingway (Tolstoy too) in a similar manner.
Many writers fall into depression. Your emphasis on "cannot" makes me think of the hellish downward spiral. However, your poem does offer hope when the word changes to can. It's been noted that Persephone is a symbol of change. Thought-provoking poem, Dulce.
I love it, really appreaciate it when people notice and realize I do not choose images at random...
And I do not mention my dear Hemingway for the sake of it...
Both stories so involved in this my simple poem...
HEY!
Thanks people for your beautiful comments
