Wrongly

http://www.redbubble.com

Doing wrong is human
As is
sleeping
Laughing
Weeping

Every single day

We do
  As it dawns
  As it dusks
  As it gets, yet darker

So human, in fact

As humans
We treasure and adore
  Detest and loathe
  Commit ourselves
To others
Then

 deceive them

By trying not to do so
We do worse
In a world full of humans
Who go wrong
  We find each other

  Come across one another
  Mix with others…

 Winners, losers

So human, in fact

Not even God is perfect
Why should I?

There’s nothing to forgive
  No one to blame
As typical of humans is
  To fail
  Go astray
Make mistakes…

First reactions are that picture--WOW! It shows to me of the famous 'God-and-Adam' painting.

As well as doing wrong is human, is not also 'doing right' human? I think 'being human' is human. Somehow it seem to me most humans are drawn to doing the next right thing, eat, sleep, work, play, trying not to hurt other humans, etc.

And why is God not perfect? In His perfection He has given to humans a FREE WILL to do that in which God Himself cannot interfere.

Before this becomes a book, I must say to you Dolce, that your poem is inspiring to many thought and it is, as usual, marvelously written! And yes, I like very much.

It's lovely, even as it describes the fallen human condition. Well done, Dulce.

Ok, that one showed so I guess I have to comment again...

Humans dissapoint, if we hold expectations...We as humans make mistakes but learn from our mistakes as a part of growing...

The ONLY dissagreement I have is that God is the ONLY perfect example...

yeah we fail gloriously and often...i do think we have to forgive...and maybe that in realising we will all fail...so we can continue to live and love...

Powerful, beautiful piece - and profound. It is the nature of our condition, true, to greet failure often, to mistake and make mistakes...but so do we learn from them, so do we grow. We make more, but we learn from those as well - life is growth. Life is learning. We fall down a lot in the process, but such is the basis of learning!

And an intriguing picture as well. I find myself quite caught in it...

We make mistakes, yet we learn, and we regret.

Despite our own selfishness, we also feel compassion, and it is what separates us from the inhuman. When we see compassion in animals--as we often do--that makes us attach ourselves to the animals more, for that is what we truly seek from our fellow human beings.

We give way, we forgive. It is only human

"To err is human; to forgive, devine."

Well, we do get it right once in awhile, which is all we can expect.

Nice One Shot, Dulce!

So much in this really...how imperfect "human" nature is. We can love, and love strongly yet be "decieved"...sometimes not by the other but by our own emotions as well. Forgiving others can even be far easier than forgiving ones self. ~Your writing: very well done and thought-provoking! (As a "human") :) ~April

No, we are not perfect, but we are forgiven for that, as it is how we are - and what makes us special. I love the painting!

It is human to be anything and everything but perfect - and you capture it here so well... and, for me, it is the imperfections that make life so beautiful and interesting.

To be human is to err....well, I be human....LOL!

You have given the universal statement, and it's a mirror held up to all our faces.

Great poem...great oneshot.

we fail over and over, but we can at least admmit our mistakes even if we are to repeat them.
