Smelling Freshly Cut Grass

It brings me
It gives me
More than pure air

It embellishes me
It enraptures me
Carries me away
To and fro
All sweetest times

It sets that smile on my face
And my spirit
.
It reminds me
Life is...
.
And I am part of it.

Interesting and well-written. As if each grass blade were a living, feeling being, like a person. After all, we ARE all tied together? Grass-and its scent--lets us know that life really IS (a beautiful, thoughtful line) and we are all together a part of life.

Thank you, Sweeter Poet. And yes...I DO like, OK?

So beautiful that you see the beauty in the grass under your feet! Grass does have a wonderful and fresh smell...like rain, it is a refreshing part of life, and yes, you are a beautiful part of it! I love this Dulce! :-)

I could use that smell about now, too bad its buried under snow. But I must admit, the first snow seems to purify everything with its white coat... Very nice poem..

I like the idea of a mass of grass, like a gathering of people. It does bring so much imagery to your poem~
I really liked it~

I like the present continuous form of life here: Life is . . . and I also pause here to think of Life that was and is to come.

Joy always,
Susan

Mmmmmm! I yearn for freshly cut grass - none here on our mountain in Spain, but in abundance, and so brilliantly green, in Ireland.

This post evokes memories, for me.

A wonderful response to the prompt - the smell of freshly mowed grass is filled with memories for me too.

'It reminds me that life is....' Sometimes, lost in an experience, we realise that everything is a miracle, including ourselves.

A lovely poem that truncates the words to good advantage.

Dulce,

What a lovely poem. And picture!

Life is...and I am going to put a basket and carrier on my bike this weekend and take my four year old for a ride. There's nothing wrong with her little pink bike with wheels...but reading your poem somehow urged me to get this done!

that smell of freshly cut grass really gives the sensation of life. We are far from that here, our grass is covered with snow.

Sweet. A lawn after it has been mown always smells good.
I love this part-
"It reminds me
Life is.........."
I love the way you've tried NOT to define life.

That smell of fresh grass, new mown, is exhilirating...like the smell of the first rain on a hot summer afternoon. Blissful.
