Figure it Out

I’ve disappeared through

These sheets and walls

That’s not only

Figurative.

From that start

When our hearts lost control

Knowing we were born

To grow apart

But still we insisted on

Sailing to non-existent isles.

Missing days filled

With memories

Of broken stars

As I woke up.

I’ve waited

I’ve dreamt

I’ve felt jealous and

As furious as a bear

…And I loved you

Anyway…

We could not catch the rainbow

But it was there for us to stare

From anywhere

…And you loved me

Anyway…

Guess that’s just

Figurative.

From that start

When our hearts lost control

Knowing we were born

To grow apart

But still we insisted on

Sailing to non-existent isles...how could you know me so well, yet never met me, dulce? only, i realize all too late that the 'we' you insist on writing is merely an 'i'...
this is exquisite but i can only imagine it was wrought in pain, dear one.

My dearest Dulce,

Sometimes your poetry evokes such feelings of sadness....is it better to have loved and lost? Sometimes, perhaps, but, sometimes not. I guess it depends on whom you were loved by and what you gained from it.

Beautiful, as all your works are, my friend.

The third stanza is some of the best poetry I've ever read, Dulce. Your imagery, your metaphor; they are all amazing. You are indeed a master of language :)

Sweeter Canary-Girl:

Your Florida Peep senses that none of this poem is "figurative", except for the accompanying beautiful and very tasteful picture.

Please God, that you do not suffer needlessly. Others are everywhere. But maybe none like........?

Your Peeps are sad for you--and I am one of them, Dulce.

Love,
steveroni

Yes, sadness is perhaps the best and most poetical feeling of them all, even more if it's joined to the loss of a love or the loss of a hope for love...

It so happens...
Hey my dear friends... I'll stop blogging for a few days.I hope I can handle it!
Love U all LOTS!

I came from The Gypsy on Words guessing more poetry was on the plate. I was right! Hope you can still catch the rainbow you speak about.

i agree with you Dulce, sadness createsthe best poetic flow ever..it is the most painful to describe but it comes easier with the pen more the joyful moments..they are filled with emotions that are harder to put in words,so we smile and laugh..:)

loved your piece here Dulce, too touchy..i felt it..:)

abrazos

"Sailing to non-existent isles" is where you are planning to go taking a break, dear Dulce? We shall miss you so. How much ever we love what we do, we need to take a break for that zing in our life. Enjoy yourself and be happy.

Ah, the poem! Dulce, are you having a great many emotions pent up within you. The content feeling of the present is tinged with an inherent loss that is always there but not visible.

Hugs and love,
Susan

"We could not catch the rainbow..." How painful that feeling is! To see, and not be able to capture.

Hoping you are keeping well, Dulce.

Dear Dulce:
Figurative...
to stare at the rainbow, well I think its one of the LESS figurative things in life we tend to consider as figurative... :)

You know that I liked it :)

Poignant. Bitter-sweet. Nicely done.

this is pretty powerful stuff...a sadness or emptiness hits me...and yet you try and reach out...and give. I'm learning that's what life is about and it's ok....if you never risk...you're never loved...if you're never loved....you've never lived...Stay strong ok.
