Where Am I – Where I Am

Temple ruins
A web suspended on a branch
So long ago weaved
A mantle of generation leaves
Won’t let me see
As I step on them
What lies beneath

And I sense
Someone was here before me
Also bereaved.

The chirping
Which a moment ago
Was here with me
Has suddenly ceased

Let it be
The way it is.

Not here to play hide and seek,
But somehow I feel
Somebody else is here
Beside me…

As if in a treasure hunt
For something I must find
Despite this scenery

It’s then that the light shines
Coming down
Through the thick trees
And the warmth it brings
Allows that piece of peace
Get into my inner intensive...
...Originality.

This poem has a calming influence, Dulce, the words instil a harmony and a deeply felt peace. The figurative language is sublime; your words create the most vivid of imagery.

I miss reading your poems. I get so busy...but that is good too.

I think that may be the way to find what we are looking for: to not seek it out, to not go on a hunt for it, rather to just be and be where you are. Then the light will find you and shine down on you..even through the thickness of trees.

Hugs!

And Dulce...someone will be there after (following) you, also one bereaved. The birdsong stops. Searching, searching, finding and found!

But the price to mine this ore is too high, for the resultant and expected gain.

And so, the sun shines through as it would, as it should, and peace hovers over all things once again.

Hey I could write a blog inspired by your own, would not be the first time!

Take Care, sweeter friend...

I guess when 'peace' is uttered anywhere it has a calming and soothing effect just like the words here.

Peace always dear Dulce,
Susan

This poem reminds me of how standing in an ancient ruin makes me sense the passing of time and my place within it.
Thank You Dulce xx

When the light shines through, we recognize it... and we feel its warmth. And we can't help but embrace it... and allow for it to embrace us.

Your words have wrapped their peaceful arms around me this morning, Dulce.

Hugs,
Nevine

A poem, like a book, can lead to so many interpretations. I should keep them all for good, for in my lines you've seen that part of me and that part of you...And me in you , and you in me too!

As that quote on my sidebar by Robert Frost says ...'A complete poem is one where an emotion has found its thought and the thought has found words...' I should add ...' and then it has found its readers to get to feel it'...

The best of honors, to have you here.

Thanks a lot, my dear 'peeps' ;)

Sweeter hugs

Dulce
