Fatal Fall

Icarus has also visited

This woman's divan...

His jealousy

As terrible as mine

Brought him

Full of tears

And please forgive me

I can’t help it

I am a flirt...

I promise I did not

Give him anything

To drink

He helped himself.

His impotence

My furiousity

Took him to my high window

And he tried to fly

Stupid guy

Drowned, though he had wings

He could not swim

Reminds me of the times

I’ve also tried to fly myself

And crashed into so many things

So many different types

But somehow I’ve managed

To survive

I guess still a few more falls

I’ll have to try…

I found this poem fun for some reason. I can't figure out why, though.

Tried to fly too many times myself.
Landed hard a few times. Gave up flying, now more of an earthly mode, but sometimes I like to run fast still!

Your poetry is satisfying.

I have too often flirted with disaster, falling from grace... but thankfully love healed my wings and I'm ready to fly again, knowing that I will fall sometimes, but the risk is worth it.. or is it?

Loved this, Dulce! Also thank you for the thoughtful comment on my recent post.

Hugs and kisses my friend :)

I think we've all had our share of flying and falling. I can speak for myself and say that I have the scars to show for it. Oh, my, Dulce. You've brought back such memories and thoughts to my head. This was just exquisite, Dulce! Hugs to you.

Well, we need to fall a thousand times before we learn to fly. But one glorious day it happens! :)

Birds fly
And so do I
High in the sky
Seeming to fall once more
But NO!
Only to climb
Each time
...one step closer
To where I am to go.
Exotic new places
Loving new faces
Hopefully, loneliness
Is not part
Of that bargain.

Sweet Dulce, how do you come up with these thoughts? Whence cometh your inspirations? Why do some Peeps ask all these stupid questions?

Besos! From a "gringo" peep...

I loved this, I too have tried to fly many times in life only to fall. That's okay. It's the lesson from the falling and the attempt that I take with me.

Dulce, as always brilliant and this one very fun...thank you!

DD, I have not yet posted on your heading photo, of such a pretty girl exhaling her sweet warm breath on the frozen white. Her breathing is so hot it is melting a small opening right in the top of her hand-held snow-mound.

So this is your "Winter" Header"--of course me being me, I look forward more to the Spring version.

Thank you for deleting that damn "Word Verification" Pain-in-the-a**!!!

Did I ever tell you I think you have become an EXCELLENT poet, and your stuff comes right from the heart MOST of the time--don't become "furious" now--grin! And so well thought-out, your words, and graphics, yet I understand they usually just flow out with ease. I always hesitate to be so complimentary with you, because you do not need to feel all this EGO--another grin!

I feel a little uneducated when it comes to icarus.. because the iron maiden song "flight of icarus" is the most research I have done. Thank you for sharing this it gave me a whole new viewpoint.

Kindest regards,
Tom Bailey

Ok, this is funny! I laughed out loud at the "stupid guy" jumping out the window lol. But I'm shocked, dear Dulce at how disrespectful you've been to poor Icarus. Oh wait....I was, too, in "Mrs. Icarus." Never mind! :-)

I am SO far behind! The good part of that is, I get to read three Dulce poems all at once now!

We are all that 'stupid guy' at times, huh? ;0
