Above the forest
Birds fly and chirp
Because that’s
What birds do so well
In their beaks
Something they take
To their hidden nests
Because that’s
What birds do so well
In a morning after
A rainy night
Under the wet trees
Dragons, snakes
And some forgotten
Dinosaurs
Try to move about
Without bothering
One another
These dragons have
Lazy wings
So they don’t fly
But observe the above birds
Always wishing
If I could I would
So easy to take your eyes
Off the land
And go flying your mind
Snakes do not dream
But crawl
And some manage
To climb the trees
Where the nests
And that’s the mess
They always make
While dinosaurs are
Just written about
And live longer
And best.

It would be interesting to come across a forgotten dinosaur in a forest somewhere...I think it could really be a possiblity...a wee tyrannosaurus rex that got frozen in a glacial age and just woke up! I like this poem very much!
Love it. And I love that pic of the dragon. I happen to adore dragons.
smiles. these are a few of my favorite things...dinosaurs and dragons...love the verse...
It causes me to think of us mortals attached to this earth while we're dreaming of flying.
what a marvellous flight of fancy!
Unos maravillosos versos amiga Dulce. ¡ Me encantan los dragones!
felices fiestas y Mil besitos!!!
Good day dear Dulce!! This is a terrific fantasy you've created today...
Have a blessed Christmas my friend.
very interesting post ... i think there's something hidding in the forest, another layer maybe? i'll start digging to see if i can find it.
smiles,
A clever and living forest you've created here, Dulce. And although there is much that is wild, can we somewhat find a little of ourselves inside this forest? Very nice, Dulce.

I know my darling Dulce is over flowing with fantasies, even those of yester years of the dinosaurs
I truly loved this.. simply beautiful

this is really, really cute :)
what a great poem. I can see the snakes, the dragons, the birds...my own heart wanting to fly. Sarah
I long to fly with the birds because the forest floor is covered with bad things.
Well, I think snakes and dinossaurs dream of flying too. Beautiful poem. You have good weather to walk in the forest now? Here everything is frozen, everything hybernates. I wish I could hybernate too... Only wake up in the Spring. Merry Christmas to you, my friend (and your lovely son too!)
What a wonderful forest you have created :) I love it :) Have a wonderful Monday and Happy Holidays to you and your family :)
very nice - i love to hear your fanciful poetics!
sweetly spoken dulce sweetly
Wow! That was a marvelous one.
By the way did the lines - "Snakes do not dream
But crawl
And some manage
To climb the trees
Where the nests
And that’s the mess
They always make", tell us something more than what is written there? I mean, are you using the snake as a symbol for anything else?
Oh I love these so sweet comments my friends.
Ekan,
Of course, of course, every animal here is a symbol of something. You must interpret it as you wish, though. The teacher is not gonna help! LOL
Wonderful whimsical writing! Really enjoyed this!
I love the Christmas tree.
I love the ideas in your verse today, dragons and dinosuars, my dad always told me as long as someone can speak it's name it exists. This poem made me think of that. Thank You. xx
Too much too fast I can't keep up. I'm still working on the few lines I have written about you. Trembling at the thought of showing them to you.
Wow! I love the new direction. You open so many new possibilities for your poetry. Besides I love dragons.
You are prolific lately, Dulce! i can hardly string two words together.
Lazy wings...too good. This is a beautifully crafted metaphorical poem.
May I be a magpie, up in the tree tops?
Tuesday I am shopping for a dinosaur for a 7-year-old boy who loves his dinosaurs.
I like real life better than fantasy--and in your fantasy place, I found loads of real life Peeps.
Almost everyone I know can fit into one or the other of your characterizations.
But I guess I like best the birds which fly--WHY? Because that's what birds DO!
Good writings, as ALWAYS it seems!
Love you, Sweet Dulce-Peep!
Lions, Tigers and Bears Oh My :) Love this fairytale of yours...
