GODDESS CONFUSED
These goddesses have
So much to tell
So much to rehearse
Before the play
Cute and witty
And with a suffering
Also need a rest.
Once upon a time
Persephone with no smile
Seeking a way out
Of the underworld
Found this piece of it
Couldn’t prevent herself
From entering a cave
Full of autumn leaves
Decided to take a sleep
In her dream
A similar cave, though
In darkness and shame
Missing what her
Mum represents
And have a hug with her
Manages to convey
A message to her
‘Do you believe
It’s this obscurity or
Is it my wisdom or
Their not wanting to
Look into my eyes or
Is it my smile in spring
That they cannot conceive?
Remind me,
What did I do
To deserve this?’

I look in your eyes and sees the smile every time
be patient... rest 'til your spring arrives...
Poor Persephone. In very many ways, I identify with her, and so this poem of your really strikes a chord.
Of course, my mother would answer that final question by pointing out that Persephone didn't listen to her mother, who warned her not to pick the narcissus flower.
So, Persephone and I, ears full of wax, sit in the underworld. Then again, Persephone came to enjoy being Queen there! *wink*
You're just a joy, Dulce, and this poem instantly became a favorite of mine.
It is a beautiful poem. Once again, about taking initiative. If Persephone had listened to her mother, everything would have been different, but she would always wonder "what if..." I think even though the consequences were devastating, she did the right thing. Anyway, Spring will come...
if you don't make the journey, how will you know?
beautifully done!
take the leap and dive into Spring soon, we all need to take that first step. WHAT IF?
SMILES
Dulce,
Thank you so much for my beautiful surprise. It is now locked in place on my blogsphere wall.
Smiles and ((Hugs)),
The spring always returns.
Dreams Sweet Dulce!!
Besos:)
Querida Dulce, thank you for your comment. Yes, I will wear proudly your award there. You are very sweet. Only I am such a technical nulity that I need my husband's help to do it!He already promised me. Muchos besos
OK I am sorry but I think this is so RUDe for someone to post all those links and a few poems.. I did not see a comment either.. well I guess you can always delete it. I popped over again to browse through your blog, and saw this and had to make a comment..
Bad taste in my mouth..
HUGS
How can you manage to weave such magic with all your poems?
Love them all, Dulce!
Margie:)
xx
Thank you for my lovely blogger award. I didn't mean to be ungrateful and not put it on my sidebar but I have never won an award before.People have called me a similar word to blogger.
I will work on becoming a goddess..( unlikely )
Had Persephone listened to her mother, she would never have made it into your poem. And that makes all the difference.
Goddess of innocence and Queen of the Underworld. I know a few Persephone Peeps but NONE of them have anything to do with "innocence". And the two I really know, are Italian!
Dulce, your writings have quickly zoomed to the top of the Hit Parade. You are in the company of Peeps like Shadow, and very few others in these blogs. You are definitely a soul sent by God to help in the healing of us all. It is an honor--and FUN--to read you, know you, and send you my peace and love.
I'm not commenting much this week so please don't go "flaunting" this comment in the faces of all my Peeps, OK? But DON'T "reject", I didn't mean that!
Sweet Dulce, I apologize in advance for sticking my nose in, but stuff like Kraxpelax's "comment" deserves instant deletion and they should be banned from your beautiful blog. It's like painting graffiti on a work of art.
And so I did, Shay dear, just!
(I just wanted him to give himself bad publicity for a few hours)
But that's enough
OUT/ AWAY/ OFF Byyyee
Thank you my frieeeends!!!
More Goddess stuff tomorrow. GRIN
This poem leaves me feeling really dumb. I don't know enough legends to understand it. Everybody else seems to. I think I knew them once but I'm getting old.
Ir does read well.
Beautiful...
