PRETENCE

Pretending to have the body
You used to?
When no matter
When, where, what
You ate
And nothing was that bad...

Pretending to go back
To those twenties
Or even thirties
When just being in love
Kept every kilo
Under control…

Lucky me
Of those extra ones
Others had
I was so free…

Alas!
Look at me now!
I put on them
Just by thinking about their existance.

So easily

Pretentiously they pretend.

I pretend
That by doing the same
I’ll get rid of them again...

But nope!

Here they are
Pretending to come
And for a long time stay…

How seriously
Should I this take…

So many real problems
In the world…anyway…

Awesome my friend. Just beautiful. There might be problems in the world but it's how we all deal with them that make our lives richer if you ask me :)

From reading of your poems and writing, I thinking that you have one special love in your life who comes and goes. And he loves you as you are which is lovely. I am happy for you, Sweet Dulce.

I can only use the last line of a song I used to sing:

I've had a love of my own, like yours-
I've had a love of my own.

Beautiful...yet sad to think how much we worry about our bodies as we age. We are so much more than just a body...and are beautiful no matter what.

Dulce, if I worried about how I look, I'd be stressed and depressed. But I found the solution...and it works!

I do not look at myself, either in the mirror or not.

Of course, when it comes to having lots of clothing, but none which will zipper properly...that is a different story.

I have three tuxedos, one for each of three groups of poundage. However, it sure looks funny to wear a tuxedo for a burger at MacDonald's......especially when it will not close up in front! LOL

Take care, Dulce.

when that is a photo of you, i think you look totally awesome, even when it's not you in the picture.
I know whatever way you look, it's beautiful and very much younger then tomorrow.
i don't think you read my blog, but i did a little thing on aging :)

:) people should never bother about the physical appearance of themselves or others. there is no use fretting over such a trivial thing as long as one is healthy. :)

It's like my mother would say.
Before she was forty everybody would say. "You're good looking."
Now they say. "You look good."

No comfort but,
the world really is in worst shape.

i have no doubt that you still look beautiful -- whatever is on the outside fades away, your true beauty comes from within. that only melts away pounds and inches.

well said!

warm smiles and hugs,

Your mind and body will forever remain young and fresh. Poets NEVER age, Chica! Tu sabes eso. :)

You are the most beautiful person, Dulce...I see people on the inside, anyway. I don't look at their outsides! I suspect, though, that you have the most beautiful outside, anyway.

I think that special someone finds you absolutely irresistable.

Dulce-
on days we dwell on overabundance, we should realize the day not so bad. and nope is a great word.
