An Analysis On Platonic Love

This love

It seems and said it is

And I truly believe

For it must be

The more intellectual

And intelligent you become

The more that love grows within

Might seem impossible

But I truly believe

For there I’ve been

A mixture of frustration

And hope

A hope to find in that person

Every single thing

Even more than you need

Actually just through fantasy

Invention

Creativity

That perfection

One always seeks

Sweeter than just sweet

A need to have the ideal

No need to go through it

In reality.

So stimulating this feeling is

Because as you think and feel

As you feel and think

No witness comes to play

So you can give free rein

To your imagination

This love

Has

No agreements or disagreements

No arguments

No dirty details

It doest not get old

For it’s out of time and space

This love

Is not moody

But clean

Pure

Always loose

No limits

No nuances…

No censorship allowed…

Ironic that just today I was pondering Platonic philosophy and mentioned it to one such friend.

It takes some time, some juggling and balance, perhaps a few winding roads... but it's possible.

Beautiful words of yours. thank you.

gla dto see you at one shot dulce! i wonder if any love ever lives without disagreements...perhaps love is shown best when we are still in the midst of it and can call it love....

first, i get MORE than platonic from the picture you chose - not complaining, however.

the poem, itself, weaves a delightful dance through the tempting and pleasant evolution of this wonderful way of loving. i'm fortunate to have several with whom i share this and now that you have reminded me - i must thank them.

thank you!

A beautifully reflective and subtly layered poem, Dulce, the philosophical searing at its core is wonderful. Platonic love is, indeed, the noblest of all love and you so elegantly articulate this. It is the love of human for another, simply and only because they are both human.

Thank you for posting. I always enjoy explorations of love and each is as unique as the love to whom it belongs. Thanks for posting this. Gay

A true systematic poetic study this one. Dulce, you are investigating a concept. This love. Far out! This love. "Out of time and space".

I cannot know--for me--if this kind of love, with no pain, no guilt, no hurt, no jealousy, no furiosity and no breaking someone's heart now and then--clean, pure blah blah...is possible. Just never thought of it.

If this is not your BEST ever blog, it is certainly your most interesting. Here IS another point of view, NOT mine:

Samuel Richardson has one of his characters in "PAMELA" say, "I am convinced, and always was, that Platonic love is Platonic nonsense."

Remember I did NOT say that--grin! just threw it into the mix. Enjoyable read, WELL done
and the image...well, ahh, Ummm! YEP!
HUGS!

Happy first school day today!

I love this piece. I don't say that often. As a hyper intelligent longing for love man this resonates with what I hope love is. Unfortunately it has not been my experience. Has it been this way for you? Platonic or otherwise? Bisous, Love and Light, Sender

For the love of Plato? (LOL!)

I wish everyone could express their platonic love as well.

It sounds like a good love too! Though I disagree with my love but that is how she and I balance out, and in balancing, we love:)

Great work here Dulce!

No censorship allowed…that would be great - but i wonder if it does not sneak in - even in platonic love affairs…
enjoyed your how beautiful you describe it in your poem dulce!

Sounds like a love we should all have. You did a lovely job describing all its qualities. But to go a bit irreverent, the wrench in the works is lust. The minute your bring that into the equation, many of those qualities go to hell in a hand basket.
