BRAVE

There must always be

A place

A time

To face each day

With strength…

To swallow our pride

To think matters through

And find that music

Which feeds our soul…

Years

Don’t make us

Brave

But less fearful…

Oh Dulce, I think this poem is one of my favorites of yours...your words here are so true...the last line tells it all! I love it! :-)

you had me until "swallow your pride"... hehe

great sentiment here, though. We all do need that time and place EACH day

Just loved the picture, dear Dulce. I am loving these simple and profound verses of yours. They have a message that is vital at any point of life. The last stanza had me: "less fearful." I thought and thought about those two words. I guess with age, one becomes a bit thick-skinned and so the things that used to fear us before are passe. Past fears are always better than the forthcoming ones :)

Joy always, sweetest :)

I'm still working on the "less fearful" part...

Maybe some day I'll get there.

That photo is full of magic,

They shared their power with me,
thank you.

I agree with Carrie, one of the best of yours I've read, Dulce. The message and the words are timelessly beautiful, the final stanza is breathtaking. We never lose fear, we just learn to cope.

Again, Dulce, you caught me with your last few words... words so richly rendered because they are so deeply felt. I can hear your voice... if I close my eyes... and imagine you there... speaking. Yes, I can hear it... and I can hear you saying these things... to my closed eyes... while they listen... and learn... and remember.

Warmest hugs to you from me,
Nevine

What a picture! How closely the drippings of water exemplify the "think matters through" and the eternal amount of time neede for some (me) to "swallow our pride".

Dulce, this whole series (I call it that) of "meditations" on human behaviors--virtues, in these cases--is REALLY your best recent work IMO.

Please continue with your indomitable quest for growth and truth with this "series"...

Love, from..."On the Road Again"

THANK YOU!
I am feeling kinda philosophical these days, and I feel so great when you give your sweet and wise opinions on the matter.
Today I am posting a rather more controversial one, that of HONESTY, and the contradictions it might bring to our being...

Again, thanks- and I'll be catching up on you all right now!!!!
