Cold Walk

She can be seen...

Her head

Below the horizon

So she is rather

In the sea

Struggling...

Than walking along its shore

Trudging...

With this brainstorm

A pain in the head

Warns her

Time to stop it!

Up and down

From one side.

Then to the other

Not so far, but

Looks like a million days

Miles

Fakes

To get there.

Must but surrender

To the breeze

The sound

The smell

These waves

That come and go

...So does it

In your head

My girl

Comes and goes...

And that swinging

Fuses with her steps...

...The cold soft encounter

Of the feet with the Earth.

when i return to the sea...i find it resets the rhythm for me...the gentle lap of the waves...the fresh salty air...you can fight the waves or ride them...

When a Peep says something like, "Everything--all creation is connected, one to the other, to another, and so on"...I believe that to be so.

Without knowledge of chemistry, and whatever else...I somehow just know that the sea and me share some of the same natural behaviors, ebb and flow, in and out, up and down, stormy, balmy, hot and cold--and always so deep. Or maybe shallow?

Dulce, your words are as ever--so deep. My interpretations as ever--so shallow. But I persevere in my reveries of knowing--yet not knowing...

That cold soft encounter of feet with the earth--to me--is like a left hand shaking hands with it's counterpart...they are both from the same source.

This IS a well written piece of Sweeter poetry!

Besos.

You take us into her head, Dulce, you tell us of her thoughts and feelings in so subtle and crafted a way.

It was as if I were walking on that beach too, perhaps hidden behind the rocks, your marvellous poetry allowing me to be the silent observer.

And the final stanza is poignantly breathtaking,

"...The cold soft encounter
Of the feet with the Earth."

One soul, one human, her skin and her body and her spirit in time and in harmony with the rhythms of the Earth. Profound, infinitely beautiful.
