THE RESCUE

All the goddesses

With their arches came

As soon as they heard her friend

Had her eyes in bubbles

Their quest

To rescue the woman

And of course the girl

Took them both out of the mash

And after a hot bath

They had a chat

Put the girl to sleep

In a safe place

And told her off

And warned her not to go out again

All by herself

In the dark

And be left in the cold

‘You are only fifteen

And that’s what they do to girls like you

With their fake charms

They use you and abuse you.’

All the goddesses sat in reunion

Around a bonfire

And burned all the rests

Of what the new fake had left

And the woman

Exhausted and silent observed

And just by looking at the eyes

Of her friends

She had it all said

But she explained

That he had said he was Hercules

And his kisses and caresses

Were the best she had felt…

And the goddesses burst out

Laughing and bending their bellies

So much sympathy

For they all know so well...

And then the woman danced around the fire

And her friends applauded

And they hugged

And she put her chin well up.

Birds are chirping

This rainy morning

Because no matter how dark

A ray will always outstand.

I was there and I remember. Thanks for taking me back, now it's ok, but we were surprised when we though we were the only one it happened to like that.

oOoo, glad to see you dancing today, Dulce! Nothing like a little calling out of the Goddesses to set things right. ;-)

I love the way you've written this, it's so immediate, I can feel the fire burning and the laughter in the air. The picture is perfect, as well.

You're not alone when you have friends.

I'm glad you're feeling that ray of light upon you today, Dulce. This is beautifully written, with both regret for what has been done and hope for what is to come.

Warm hugs and kisses, my dear friend xoxoxoxo

I am so glad that you are starting to lift yourself up a bit. I didn't find about your sadness until way too late. But even if I had known there was little I could do but say I am sorry.
