EYEWITNESS

Looking down
At the Earth

I behold
Millions of cars
Going along highways.
Perfect harmony.
Thousands of planes

Flying above us
Taking people away
or back home.
Perfect harmony.
I can observe
Half the globe is asleep

And the other starting life
One more day
And keeps spinning
Around the sun.
I notice the waves breaking
Against all shores
Perceive wild animals looking for food
The poles melting down

Lots of us trying to say something
To the world from this device.

Praiseworthy people.

I witness from above
This woman I’ve become,

How she still
Brings back useless memories
Guilt

Passion

Old Miseries

Which lead her nowhere…

And I laugh at her.

That reminds me of Ayla's vision in the Clan of the Cave Bear. I feel sorrow, for seeing so much beauty being wasted. Planes, cars and skyscrappers don't impress me... Only trees, rivers and mountains. Anyway, it's all part of this world, our home. Brilliant poem - two worlds, three, with our inner, side by side.

Boyoboy, that Sylvia is a thinker--like you, Dulce. Not impressed by "things", but impressed by nature.

I'm impressed also with nature's ways...but even more, with the human spirit, that force within. We are guided by the Power, how superb!

Yet we can deny, say "No" to what we "see", and what we really feel. And immediately, we are besieged by the knowledge that "something is wrong"...

So, to live in peace, let us all follow the path suggested today by our respective angels (as we understand them!).

We witness so many things with our eyes but we never really appreciate it, what people spent a lifetime working on and what natue produced over the last 4600 million years.

you're good when you can laugh at yourself. actually, it's more than necessary to stay sane....

I took it differently than my fellow commentors. I felt the woman was judgmental -- looking down at others, not able to look at her own flaws -- initially.

Weird how each of you has made their own interpretation... I wonder why...(?)

Getting to know you through your poetry is definitely interesting. But I wish you would write a little about your daily life in the regular way.

You don't 'try' to write poetry.
You 'are' poetry.....

The very nature of good prose or poetry is that multiple readers come away with different visions. So this must be good.

very enjoyable indeed! for me, memories are only useless when they have been forgotten -- which then, they are no longer memories ...

smiles to you and your wonderful thoughts and words,
